Product Deployment and Marketing: A Major International Insurance Company

The Situation

Our client is a leading international insurance organization specializing in the property-casualty insurance market in the US. This company’s offering of products and services include mortgage guarantee insurance for financial institutions; excess and surplus lines insurance, professional and management liability, personal automobile insurance, life insurance and retirement savings.

The Challenge

To facilitate entry into new markets and create opportunities to grow, the client entered into a joint venture to develop and market a new separately branded product set. To establish an initial web-based industry presence for this product set-insurance and services that mitigate the risks associated with electronic B2B transactions- the client needed to construct a systems infrastructure, go-to-market name and image, and a transactional web site that effectively communicated the image and integrated delivery services electronically. To expedite the new business launch and achieve a rapid return on investment, the new venture engaged Wability inc. to build the infrastructure, interface and brand.

The Solution

First, Wability helped the client establish the technical infrastructure and brand to launch the new venture successfully. This involved the following:

  • A complete review of the strategy, systems, processes and interfaces for the individual products that were developed as offerings for the new venture. Based on this review, we confirmed business requirements, identified risks, produced a high-level design and developed high-level hosting requirements.
  • Conducted a user experience study that contributed to the development of the system specification, architecture and design.
  • Developed the site including transactional functionality for seven new products and services.
  • Integrated the site into the client’s existing systems.
  • Managed the site transition into production.

The Benefits

  • Our client was first to market with their business model and enjoyed the competitive advantage of being a market leader.
  • The site and brand we helped develop has enabled our client to point to its success through innovation, and point to this new business as further proof of its cutting-edge positioning.
  • The client engaged Wability to expand the sites functionality to include online payment for services, to extend service to additional countries by supporting more languages and currencies, and to develop a more robust architecture that supports the growth of the business.
