Hinda Incentives is a full-service performance improvement specialist founded nearly 30 years ago. Hinda specializes in low-cost, high-value, flexible approaches to incentive marketing. Hinda needed to put in place, a software system that avoided duplications in data entry and ensured consistent pricing, for its products. The company also needed to integrate its processing and inventory management system, with its financial systems.
Project Objective
To execute a system, that would flawlessly allow the order processing & inventory management systems to talk to the accounting and billing systems. The system also needed to capture accurate data, avoiding multiple data entry efforts and assist the sales force, to offer consistent pricing and payment terms.
Solution
After analyzing the software environment, Wability implemented PeopleSoft’s Financials and Distribution package. Wability undertook the implementation of GL, AP, AR, Billing, Purchase, and Inventory and Order Management modules, in a Windows NT/SQL Server environment. The GL, AP, AR & Purchase modules were implemented with minor customization, whereas the Billing & Order Management was customized extensively.
Customizations included enhancement and rewrite of modules. Wability reengineered the demand fulfillment process, as follows: Implemented lot control, to help Hinda keep pace with fast moving consumer electronic items.
Enabled the use of bar codes & picking labels, to improve efficiency in shipping and to accurately track the order status. In case if the business process could not be altered Pricing scheme of PeopleSoft was modified, to treat freight & handling as separate components.
Order process module enhanced, to accept non-standard electronic orders. Order tracking search engine re-written using a data repository concept, for fast and efficient customer service. Integrated the software with external applications, running Tax and freight functions.
